Oct. 14th, 2004 08:55 amWell, after nearly a year on LJ, I decided to change the layout a little. And I figured out how to do phoneposts, so we'll see if I ever use that feature or not.
Going to Portland for a long weekend - wish it was all for fun. I have a meeting tonight from 6-9, and another on Saturday from 4:30-5:30. Not too rough a schedule! I'm sharing a room tonight, and the Board is paying for one nights lodging, so I only have to cover 1 day on my own, plus meals. And I'm in charge of a reception on Saturday night, so I'll eat my fill there and not need dinner.
I start my "Working Interview" in Edmonds on Tuesday. Since I have to start at 8 am, and it's a 55 mile commute through "the worst traffic in the US", I'll probably have to leave about 6 am to make sure I get there. Don't want to be late my first day! Luckily, I'll be off by about 2, so traffic back shouldn't be bad. On Thursday, I don't have to be there until 10, which is a little better. Hopefully I won't have to leave before 8:30, but I don't know.
Here's hoping Mt. St. Helen's doesn't blow this weekend - because Portland is right in the likely ash plume, and of course I'm going there. I don't think my lungs could handle it! And I've heard it's hell on cars. Could be an interesting visual, though.
Wish me luck!
ETA: Change it back to the original format. Didn't like the links not being underlined - too hard to see them. If I could make them another color? Great. But I don't know how to do that.
