I cannot strongly enough recommend Da Vinci's Inquest. The first season is out on DVD, but they're supposed to be twinning it with CSI in much of the States. After the first few seasons it gets even better. It's a weekly show, but they don't do one story/week; it's like a novel, and just keeps playing out. Very naturalistic. Very Vancouver.

Also, The Wire is an HBO show by the guys who did Homicide. I'm watching it on DVD.

Are you lure-able for Stargate Atlantis? It only starts here this weekend, but I'm hooked on the fic.
