And riding in the car without seatbelts, bouncing around like pingpong balls. Even riding in the back of pick-up trucks, without being restrained. And who worried about a little "chicken juice"? Or if you couldn't wash your hands? Rinsing was fine.

And look at all our kids now, sitting inside, playing video games, worried about the "boogeyman" trying to get them if they venture outside without strict supervision...

No wonder we are a mistrusting, skittish people.
