I give up. I'm like a week behind on LJ stories, and have spent the last 4 hours trying to skim to get caught up, and make sure I don't miss any fic. I'm at skip=500, and only to... last night. So I give up.

If there was any fic out there before then, can someone let me know? Because it's 2:35 am, I have to get up no later than 7:30 am, and I'm exhausted from working all day and Christmas shopping all night.

Pretty please, help me?

Check out _in_babylon. It's a fandom newletter & may be the easiest way to catch the big fic. There's been a few standalones, but the big fics are Icarus, Correspondence (which has an interesting plot twist recently), Medium Security & Ran/Cael's.

Yeah, you guys have been my lifesaver. But I've found a few before that slipped through the cracks... and I'm a paranoid fool about missing out on anything!

I actually have like 50 or more unread stories or chapters in my Palm, since I decided to save them to read when I'm out & about. I used to leave them in my e-mail, but now I have like 8000 old messages, and the fic is buried in there somewhere.

It's kind of like when I was in school - I thought if I didn't read & know every last bit of information, than I knew nothing and was going to fail the exam. In this situation, I feel like if I don't scour the net & LJ to find all the fic that's out there, I'm missing out on the best - kind of like "the grass is always greener on the other side of the fence."
