Well, I got a call back from that medical practice I interviewed at. They called me Monday night, I interviewed Tuesday (the 6th applicant, some of the others interviewed multiple times and given working interviews too), and they called me back on Thursday morning.

They want to try me out on a part-time basis for a month, to make sure the "fit" is right between myself, the 2 partners, and the staff!! I won't be until sometime during the week of the 18th, but !!! And if it works out, it will move to full-time employment, with an opportunity for partnership (after a while, of course).

Thank God, at that point, only 5 weeks unemployed (9/11-10/18).

However, it isn't a permanent position yet. They may find out that they aren't happy with me, since I haven't really done much intense medical for the last 4 years - the Evil Old Boss wanted to refer everything, and I was worried about him seeing any of my patients due to his lack of knowledge, so I got in the habit of referring, too. I have no problem with diagnosing... it's just the exact treatment plan that I'm a bit rusty on.

But I have 10 days to bone up on everything... it will kind of be like studying for boards again. And while I'm excited about the job... I'll probably have to step back a bit from LJ and QaF (sob), at least until I'm up to snuff. And that will probably be for at least a month. Which makes me sad.

But I guess I should just be happy about the chance at this job, right?
