Feb. 13th, 2005 05:46 pmWell, we got back from lunch at Rock Pasta, a great pizza/pasta/beer joint in town. Don't listen to them... the beer isn't wood fired! LOL
Meant to go by Borders for some Beading books (just bought a sh*tload of freshwater pearls), but the S.O. wanted to go play Pai Gow... and who am I to say "No" after I went pearl-crazy? So we went to the Emerald Queen Casino. Doesn't the lady on the home page look like someone I'd like to emulate? LOL
The S.O. lost $80, I won $25. So, while I still cost more today, I think I got more to show for it!
Now I'm off to watch "Oz - Season 4", which I just got from Fred Meyer (a big grocery-jewelry-home&garden-department store combo we have in the NW). $49.99, and cheap at the price!
Here's hoping for more hot Beecher-Keller lovin'!
*to the TV*

I was working at the VA, about 5 years ago, and met an interesting woman. She had been one of a squadron of woman pilots (I seem to remember), and I think she also did test pilot work, but I could be mistaken. When I expressed an interest in her history, she lent me, like, 2 books, maybe 3. I read them, and then called to give them back to her. Her number didn't work. So I held onto them. And moved.
And now, it's 5 years later, and she's calling, saying she "knew the books were in good hands", but she's "moving to New Mexico" in about 4 months, she's recently divorced, and she's trying to gather her stuff back together.
And I have no idea where her stuff is.
I mean, I know I put it away somewhere when I moved. It's probably in a box in the basement.
Which had a small flooding problem about 2 years ago, which resulted in about 1/2"-1" of water over the basement floor. Soaking the bottoms of all the boxes there.
And I'm a lazy bastard who has done nothing about it. God only knows the quantity of mold that might be soon bursting forth like a jack-in-the-box from one of those containers.
*shudders*
But I'll feel bad if I can't find them for her, or, worse, if they are damaged beyond hope.
Although that could be a good excuse... you didn't get in touch with me for 5 years, and I had a water problem in the interm. Your items were destroyed.
I hate to think that might have happened, though.
*must go look soon*
