Sep. 25th, 2005 10:30 amSo, last night we had a kind of last-minute poker party at our house. Meaning that the SO had mentioned it to a friend of ours who usually has poker parties at his house, and we didn't hear back from him until yesterday afternoon that people were coming over. Hell, I didn't hear about it myself until Thursday night.
12 people showed up, of which 10 played poker. We played 3 rounds of poker, with a $20 buy in each round. I was on fire! I had several 3 of a kinds, a full house, several straights... and won the first two rounds. Woke up this morning with $120 in my pocket - not bad! Of course, the SO paid $60 to play, so really we're only up $60... but still, all in all a good night.
When I was straightening stuff up in the bedroom (since people were going to be going in there to use the master bathroom), I picked up the massive pile of crap that had accumulated on top of my tallboy dresser over the last... 2 years? And in doing so, I found a favorite necklace that I thought I'd lost one night out at dinner. I was certain it had fallen off, and slipped through cracks on the pier. But no! It was in the massive pile of jewelry on top of my tallboy!
So I ended up picking up my dresser & vanity top (which desperately needed doing, as I hadn't done for at least... 2 years? Maybe 3, since there was an old paystub of the SO's from 2002), found a beloved missing necklace, had a great time, and won $120. And the clean up wasn't too bad this morning, so all in all, a good night!
