Fascinating graphic novel about a young girl, growing up in during the Fundamentalist revolution in Iran. Her life, how it changed, the struggle of her family & her people are well done. A good book for those who are pro-war, makes you realize that the people in charge at the bad guys, not the person on the street trying to survive.
27.) Princess Academy, by Shannon Hale, 317 pgs
Young adult book, awarded a Newberry Honor Book designation (which is why I got it). Definitely YA, but still a good read. Miri goes with all the other girls in the village, age 12-18, to learn to be a princess, and uses her knowledge to help make her peoples lives better.
