... and finally discovered what it was.

I was running a virus scan of my PC, and it found one virus - but was still scanning.

I got up for dinner.

When I sat down again, I forgot that I had been virus scanning, but found it odd I had no windows open (I had about 5 earlier). I figured the S.O. had shut them down.

So I decided, brilliantly, to restart the machine, so the cache would clean out (it has a program for that). Because, you know, I hadn't turned it off for a while.

So I did.

And then came back, and noticed that the HP Invent screen seemed to be up for a long time.

Then it went to a cursor at the upper left corner of the screen. Forever. Literally.

I hit the reset button, and it immediately turned off.

Hit the On button - it did the same thing.

For 4 times.

I think maybe something ate my PC.

Waaaaaah! I have all my Fic in there! And my vids, and, and... 3 years in the fandom!

*runs in circles, tearing hair*

Whatthefuck!!!!!!

*prays*

Thank God I have a laptop, too. It's now worth it's weight in gold, instead of as a backup - although it can't compare to the 220 gb I've lost!!!!
