This was in response to a friend saying that they hadn't noticed me on-line today (my day off)...

Yeah, I spent today discovering that the Apple guy I talked to knew nothing. He is on their support line, yet full of shit. I just decided to go for it, and it worked! Keriann & I can share a library (iTunes for the mini iPods) - we just have to have different playlists. And if I chose to sort playlist by artist, or album... than it's just like having the 200 disc jukebox at home.

However, I tried to move songs around in the playlists, and it didn't work. Gotta look further into that.

But on the plus side, I have both K & I running off the PC right now... although I will probably change to the laptop for my stuff after I take the time to call Gateway and then have them tell me what to do to repair that damn combo drive. Gotta do that soon.

The computer guy came today and installed 512MB add'l Rambus-RAM - so I now have 640MB. Should be enough to run what I want. Plus, with the DVD ROM & the new DVD-Burner.... plus the add'l 160MB HD for a total of 220MB... that should do it.

However, he said that our video card was 5 generations old... and that for $100, we could put in a card that is only 1 generation old and work great.

So that and a flatscreen/LCD are what I'm considering.....

And then no more computer stuff. Although I am pretty proud of myself. I've always bought new when the old didn't perform... and this time, I really did upgrade. For about $380 in parts, and $180 in labor... $560 for practically a new machine!
