It's an odd feeling...

... transitioning from one thing to another. Exciting, exhilarating... yet not wanting to leave the old behind.
I'm madly in love with Battlestar Galactica (henceforth called BSG). I have a crush on Starbuck, and love how they've written the Number Six character.
But I am loathe to leave my QaF fandom behind... although many others are drifting away lately. Or maybe that's my reflection I'm seeing... I still love the show, but I'm not obsessed with it as I once was. For the obvious reasons, but also because my touchstones are now online... I don't feel the same manic pull I used to. The one that got me to tell my boss on short (3 week) notice that I was taking a week off to go to Toronto, or that I needed the upcoming weekend off (4 days notice). And I didn't even care - I would have quit the job I had if there had been any disagreement about it. I can't imagine doing that now. Hell, I can't even convince myself it's OK to call into work sick if I really am!
But, the feeling of transitioning into a new love is kind of invigorating!
