Anyone want to buy a DVD Edition of Sims 2?

Seriously, I can't play it.

My laptop doesn't have enough video memory, and no way to expand it. My PC is 3 years old, and needs an upgraded video card... which I might get, but I really wanted to be able to play the game away from home (ie - on my laptop).

So, I'd like it to go to a good home. Or, any home, really.

It's for the computer, but it loads a lot faster, as it's DVD based. You need an 8x DVD player (which I have) & a fast graphics card (which I don't have).

I downloaded the graphic card on-line. My computer took about 3 hours of updating before the game would run.

How do you download a graphic card? Isn't that a hardware thing? My game crashes the computer all the time... I can play it, but after about 30 minutes or so it always crashes. I downloaded new video drivers & tried playing with the sound disabled, but nothing helps. They claim to be working on a patch to fix some of these problems but who knows when that will be ready.

I couldn't even get into the game when I first got it - it never made it past the little "EA Games" logo. For free I downloaded Intel Extreme Graphics 2. It all depends on the computer you have. Go to that companies website and update your graphics with them for free.

I got the DVD edition too, and it runs fine for me. But then, I have a practically brand new super cool computer. I'm not helping you, am I? Sorry.

Anyway, I'm not sure the regular version would work any better on your computer(s). I think it requires a lot of video memory too. Maybe our resident Sims expert quinn222 would know?

I gotta make me a Sims icon... but I haven't quite mastered the whole snapshot thing yet...
