Well, the S.O. went for a haircut at Gene Juarez (a semi-snooty salon chain in Washington), and I took it as an opportunity to shop... for myself.
I got a pair of jeans (which looked better than on the model, I hope!), this sweater, and this sweater (same style as the other, different color).
I usually like the models, because they give me a more realistic notion of what the clothes will look like. But I'm not sure about these... I could swear I looked better than them. But maybe I was just looking through rose-colored goggles.

Date: 2004-12-19 09:56 am (UTC)The things I've observed about low(er) cut jeans is that
(1) although they can look damn sexy when wearer is standing up or (sometimes) walking
(2) needing to move in real life (like bend over and pick up anything) causes constant tugging at waist band and
(3) sitting down shows ungodly hunks of threatening-to-be butt crack and
(4) maybe it's just my old eyes, but sometimes the pockets are placed in such a way as to make the whole butt look like the jeans are sliding off.
My observations comes primarily from sitting in airports watch these jeans walk by on various bodies and sitting in airplanes watching same bodies struggle with sitting down and keeping jeans on butt.
Hence, although wildly unfashionable, I have to stick to the high-waisted variety.
