I'm running a ripping program by Yasasoft, called "Magic DVD Ripper". It lets me clip, which is nice (thanks, [livejournal.com profile] catkcrl)!

My question - when I want to rip to AVI format, it asks for the Codec. My choices are:

Cinepak Codec by Radius
Intel Indeo Video R3.2
Intel IYUV Codec
Microsoft Video 1
DivX Pro 5.1.1. Codec
XviD MPEG-4 Codec

I'm assuming the DivX - but I wasn't sure.

Any advice is welcome!

DivX will probably give you good compression, with a very high number of people who support it.

I'd go with the DivX codec too, happy
