I was just sitting on the couch, reading a magazine.

The cat, Buddy, freaked out. He was sitting between us, nothing happened.. but he...

Jumped up.

Spun out on my face.

I'm afraid to look in the mirror, but I had blood all over my hands when I took them away from my face.

And my face stings like mad.

And the S.O. had to blot it with a washcloth forever, then dab the spots (at least 4 big multi stratch ones) with antibiotic.

But I'm afraid to look in the mirror - and he doesn't want to let me.

And I have always loved that cat... but I don't think I can trust him anymore.

Damn, my face burns...

I seriously don't know how much more I can take.

Oh honey! Owchie. That sounds horrible. But ask your SO if they look bad enough to go to the ER about. You need to careful about that kind of injury and an infection since their nails tend to be dirty (regardless of how clean the house or how often bathed). I hope you're ok.

I'm concerned myself, but he said they weren't deep enough for stitches. I'll get up the courage to look at them sometime today, and if they weem to start to get redder or puffy... I'll go to the doctors immediately.

I seriously hope the topical antibiotic does the trick.

oh man, this is terrible. i actually had this happen to me - i was standing in a doorway between the new (female, recently fixed) cat and the old (male, fixed) cat and the male decided to climb my body and latch on to my face. we've always assumed it was some sort of hormonal freakout on his part but it was the scariest, freakiest thing to experience.

as one who's been there i urge you to go to your doctor tomorrow and get some antibiotics. i ended up with an infection in one of the cuts (and yes i did work very hard to clean it) and the doctor told me because of the placement of the injury (near my nose) the infection was just tunneling its way straight back towards my brain. if you don't get antibiotics tomorrow and the area around any of the cuts starts reddening/feels hot then you definitely want to head to the doc immediately.

i've also ended up on antibiotics due to cat scratches/bites on two other occasions and still every time i think i've done a good enough job tending to the wounds myself. one of these days i'll learn.

OMG, you poor thing. How totally freaky. I would recommend, though, that you get it looked at, regardless if you think it's deep or not. Just one little infection can cause all kinds of scarring, and you definitely don't want that on your face. :( Keep us posted, K? *hugs*

sorry life is kicking your butt a bit lately. I may be late, but I hope you wqent to the doctor and got a tetnus shot. cat scrtatches are nasty. one of my cats went thru a period when he just freaked out for no reason. Attacked me once and my mother twice. Had to get him declawed. (front only) Finally found out he and my mother don't get along.

I hope things start looking up for you.

Also use tons of sunblock once they start to heal. It will help reduce any possible scarring.
