So, I'm thinking of renaming my journal...

As anyone who is reading this knows, I was a *huge* QaF fan back in the day, and still love me some Brian and Justin.  However, QaF has been off the air since 2005, and now, 6 years later... it *may* be time for a change.

I am a creature of habit, though, and the thought of changing the name of my journal (which I started on Dec 11th, 2003!) is a bit... stressful to me.  Although I'm not here as much as I used to be, so it may be a moot point...

So, those of you who have changed your usernames - why did you do it?  Would you do it again?  Why or why not? 

And do you think I should?  I have already started another journal (just for the purposes of making sure I could get the username) - glamhappy  - what do you think?

I guess I won't help you much but I know people who have changed it just because they didn't like how the old one sounded or because it was related to a fandom/show they didn't care about anymore.

Personally, I also made mine about Brian/Justin and I know that QAF is always gonna be my favorite show so therefore, I'll never change my username. In your case, if you feel like QAF doesn't mean the same to you these days and you prefer to have a username related to a new fandom or another thing, of course, I think it's good idea to do it; glamhappy sounds good to me :) (If you have a doubt about a name, I know people who have made a poll about it and the flist voted).

There are times I've certainly missed -(back in the day.)

The 'Glam' didn't catch on for me after the fall of QAF.

Certainly, I miss some of the folk I met here.

It's your name, change it if you like. That's why its yours.

Just yesterday I went to your WEB page and wondered if you had done a similar one for Adam. Did you?

Nice to hear from you, Sandi! I do see posts from you occasionally - is it FB, or Twitter, if you aren't on here much?

Life is treating me pretty good (knock on wood) - have been through some big, but good changes personally. Heading into the 2nd half of my life healthier than ever, thank goodness, after quite a few years of troubles.

I haven't updated my web page in... several years. And no, I don't have a page for Adam. While I would like to, there are already a ton of great pages out there (unlike for QaF, where there weren't many). I can barely keep up with reading Glam fanfic, though, so that will have to be enough for me.

I hope like has been good to you, lately. You really deserve it!

I'm not here much anymore either, but personally I find it confusing when people change their names. I'll see a name on my f-list, not recognize the person, and not remember what name they used to use. Although if you're gonna use a similar name that would help.

I think having a name for a long period of time certainly makes you recognizable and familiar. But you're still the same person after a name change! For me, it'd feel like such a drastic change. I'd never be able to do it but it is up to you if it would make you feel better.

I did it because I was branching out from QAF fandom and everyone just referred to me as Bliss, anyway. It's too bad you can't get just Happy, especially as that journal is just sitting there not being used.

I like glamhappy, a lot, too. Do what feels right to you.
