Any other ostriches out there?

I've been crazy busy with personal life lately - getting laid off, trying to find more work, considering moving... and I haven't been keeping up with much of my cyberlife - mostly just
big_brian_o,
brianakinney/
justintheartist, and
_in_babylon (which I'm about a week behind on, anyway.
And my Yahoo e-mail? At least 10-12 days behind, which means... like 2000 e-mails or more.
So what do I do?
*whistles*
*fidgets*
I ignore it. Like it doesn't exist, like it will go away. Instead of just exploding my mailbox. *that's what 2 gb storage is for, right?*
I think I get it from my mother, who had this phobia about mail (I think because it brought bills). She would leave it out there forever, until the mailman had to just shove & shove to get anything in. She never balanced her checkbook (still doesn't to this day) - just writes in any deposit and goes from there. One time she had to change her account (the bank changed ownership) and shw was surprised at the balance they told her (she thought she had a lot less - like $10K-12K less).
Now, I know I can't avoid the mail, just like death & taxes. But it's overwhelming.
So if you responded to a post I made, and I didn't get back to you... it's because I didn't know. But I do check for responses in my own LJ's most recent posts... so feel free!
*now they know I'm crazy*
