sgornyJust discovered that I was supposed to have a Unified Business ID # for the State of Washington. Got a little worried, since I've been doing this for a year, so I applied online this morning.
Which only led to more unpleasant discoveries.
1) I was supposed to have a City Business License - not just use my Social Security number. And there are penalties for running a business without one.
2) I was supposed to have Home Occupation Licence - to run an office out of my home. Penalties for late application apply.
In addition, I need to contact each city I've worked in, to make sure that I didn't need to have a Business Licence to work there. And how many cities is that?

The only good news? I probably don't have to file in any of them, because most were only short term, 1-5 days, and I'm probably below the income earned limit in them to require filing.
*headdesk*
If this keeps up, I'm going to have to get a padded desk, to save my poor head.
