46.) Dexter in the Dark, by Jeff Lindsay - 320 pgs
I loved the other books in this series a bit more than this one. It was something about the plot, with the ancient religions aspect, that just didn't play well to me. I mean, Dexter is what he is... and ethical serial killer. Serial killers? Believable. And finding someone who understands, who helps mold him into an ethical version? A little far fetched, but believable. How many mothers & fathers love kids that are terrible, and potentially unredeemable?
I'd prefer to think the "inside shadow" is something that he sees, and imagines answering him back. Having it be a real thing? Connected to an ancient religion? ... It's a bit much for me.
However, I *did* like the ending, and look forward to the next one, coming out in October.

On the advice of
bliss_, my next 3 books will be:
47.) Grave Sight, by Charlaine Harris - 263 pgs - I've only just started it, and already it's grabbed me!
48.) Grave Surprise, by Charlaine Harris - 295 pgs
49.) An Ice Cold Grave, by Charlaine Harris - 280 pgs
And then? Reserving the right to change order, of course...
50.) A Strong and Sudden Thaw, by R. W. Day - 331 pgs - also recommended by
bliss_
51.) Undead and Unwed (Undead Series, Book 1), by Mary Janice Davidson - 277 pgs
-*- another series! You know how I love them... and this one has 7 books, so far! Of course, I *did* get the recommendation from... Star Magazine? So who knows how I'll like it!
52.) Are You There, Vodka? It's Me, Chelsea, by Chelsea Handler - 272 pgs (if I can get to it before it's due back to the library on August 7th)
And there are a ton more, but I just thought I'd organize these, here. No stats, BTW, until I finish up a few more books & hit another goal (the big FIVE-OH)!
