I may be weird...

I'm listening to "Farenheit 451", by Ray Bradbury, on Audible.com. Audible is a great deal, if you are in the car a lot, because you can listen to stuff you want to read, and it makes the drive much faster. Although I've found I can read about 3 times faster than I can listen (or talk, and I'm a motor mouth). It gives me time to either 1) read stuff I've been missing out on, or 2) reread classics (like now). I recently listened to Randy Pausch reading his book, "The Last Lecture", which is his manifesto to everyone, including his kids, about how to live a good, fulfilled life. I recommend it highly. And if you quit as a member? You still have access to your library, just not the (potentially) discounted credits.
Anyway, back to the jets.
I live in the Pacific Northwest. And there are jets roaring overhead, not *regularly*, from Fort Lewis & McChord AFB (not to forget the PSNS, or Bangor SubBase, quite the military presence...), but with a consistent intermittancy that can freak you out... especially if you're hearing a story (Farenheit 451) that features that, too. Life imitating art? Hopefully, not.... although my mother's worries of childhood ("We've got a National Guard base here, there is a missle in Russia pointed at us, right now!") make me laugh...
