Well, I'm screwed.
Someone must have given out my website to non-LJ users, because everything was fine when I was gone, until last night. Then, somehow, my use spiked up to 8 gb/day (I only get 5 gb/day) - and the site is gone.
Hopefully, I'll get it back. If not, hope you all enjoyed it while it lasted. That was an expensive trip.
And thanks again to whoever gave out the site on the net. Thanks a lot.
ETA: My site will be back up by midnight (according to the host) - but I'm going to have to disable it for a while until I can figure out how to protect it. I'll post when it's available again.
If I go over alloted usage 3 times, then it's gone. So I've got one strike against me already.
Sorry.

Date: 2004-07-19 08:52 am (UTC)That is interesting that you are monitored by day. Most sites appear to monitor by month, which is both a blessing and a curse -- if you have peaks with a week, your monthly unused bandwidth comes into use. But if you still go over your bandwidth it can be another month before your site reappears.
I allot my own bandwidth. *luvz self*

Date: 2004-07-19 08:55 am (UTC)I'd hate to lose all that time I spent uploading stuff.
I was afraid this would happen.

Date: 2004-07-19 09:22 am (UTC)I'm not sure if someone direct linked to them - but I did get over 5,300 requests in 6 days... I think someone posted it on the web (instead of keeping it in LJ land). But I could be wrong.
I'll post here when it's back up, but I'll probably have to disable it for a while to fix the problem.

Date: 2004-07-19 12:53 pm (UTC)Guess I have to be glad they didn't shut it down for content or anything. And that it's back up now - I just have to monitor usage more closely, and shut it down if it gets close (I'm guessing I'll do it over 4 gb/day).
