I have been away from my Flist for a while, but just dove in for a few. Seems like a number of people are upset at the turn-around in Brian, and believe that he is acting in an "uncharacteristic way."

It seems to me that Brian is a very driven person, who puts himself 110% behind anything that he decides to do. And he has decided that he loves and needs Justin. And is willing to do whatever it takes to make that happen.

I think that the bombing was a catalyst to him, making things align in new and different ways, and showing him that his maintainance of the party line of "no regrets" and never saying 'I Love You' was really just a facade. He realized that he could lose Justin forever, and that would make all his words (or lack thereof) ashes in his mouth. So things clicked into place, and a "new" Brian was born.

I'd be interested to hear other people's opinions.

I would like to disagree on this. I see Brian's reaction differently, judging his character throughout the series. Whenever he is close to losing Michael, Brian will go after someone else he feels close to-- Justin.

Example:
Mikey leaves for Oregon. Brian decides to go to the prom to get Justin.

Brian is so close to losing Michael after the bombing, that he figures that the ONLY person he has left is Justin, therefore in his moment of shock, anger, emotion, he gives Justin what he wants: an "I love you", marriage, a house-- just so that he doesn't lose the other person who cares about him.

(You'll also notice that during the dream scene, it is Michael he's thinking of after he lost both Justin and Mikey in an earlier episode).

Okay, but you do realize that my real OTP is ChrisHobbs/Justin right? I'll ship anything with proof, but if you look at the series as a whole, that's how the b/m relationship works.

You know what, I've read it and remember it clearly, but I don't have the URL O_O I'll go on the hunt for it again and see if it pops up anywhere.
