I have been away from my Flist for a while, but just dove in for a few. Seems like a number of people are upset at the turn-around in Brian, and believe that he is acting in an "uncharacteristic way."

It seems to me that Brian is a very driven person, who puts himself 110% behind anything that he decides to do. And he has decided that he loves and needs Justin. And is willing to do whatever it takes to make that happen.

I think that the bombing was a catalyst to him, making things align in new and different ways, and showing him that his maintainance of the party line of "no regrets" and never saying 'I Love You' was really just a facade. He realized that he could lose Justin forever, and that would make all his words (or lack thereof) ashes in his mouth. So things clicked into place, and a "new" Brian was born.

I'd be interested to hear other people's opinions.

I don't see the problem with it. It's quite possibly the best ending I've seen since The X-Files. It comes full circle and gives a sense of closure.
(I hope I wasn't too detailed for the liking of the spoiler virgins... If I was, please delete this.)
